Nicole Kidman is one of my all time favorite movie actress. But in watching her in the movie ‘The Invasion’, it nearly left me comatose in despair as to how she allowed herself to be associated with this movie. And as I watched the movie, my mind kept flicking back to her previous movies so much that it seemed that I was ‘watching’ 2 movies at the same time! Now what has this to do with the Law of Attraction (besides Nicole being very attractive!)?
After the movie, I was thinking about what happened during the movie when my mind kept playing previous movies while I was watching one and came to realize, the subconscious mind is a powerful thing.
Everything we have ever experienced, the mind stores it. It also filters what we experience now based upon the beliefs and thoughts that we have. It in fact, censors our reality. This may be good in some occasions. But being bombarded constantly from all angles with things trying to attract us, we know that we do not need to be aware of every little nitty-gritty thing that comes our way. However, everything that we see, or hear is stored by our subconscious. And our subconscious will determine the level of success we have with the Law of Attraction. We will examine how that works and see if we can work it to our favor.
Imagine if our subconsciousness was not doing what it is supposed to do. We would be faced with a big problem in having a steady grip on reality. We will become paranoid where every little bit of information or influence will dramatically affect how we see the world.
So what our subconscious does is to only accept as a fact those things which our mind sees over a long period of time. Many scientists believe that it takes around 21 days for something to affect a long term change in the subconscious. Some takes longer, while others take shorter periods for this permanent change.
On the other hand, our subconscious tends to flush away things in three days. Any new thing we see, learn or believe can be flushed away in our dreams at night. An example may better explain this. There are many people who opt for hypnosis to overcome a bad habit like drinking, smoking or over-eating. Most of them will respond positively in the first days of hypnosis ‘treatment’ but slip back to their old habits. Why? It is most likely that the subconscious flushed away the new programming while they slept. And a few days later, this new programming habit is gone.
This is why in the Law of Attraction, it is always emphasized that you need to constantly meditate and visualize on what you want to manifest. Only by impressing your subconscious repeatedly until they become part of your reality can you make the Law of Attraction work!
The power of the subconscious is such that once you have impressed something upon it fully, and it is accepted by your subconscious as a fact of reality, that thing will now become a reality in your experience.
Therefore if you repeat your hypnosis treatment every few days, you will find that over time, you will be able to keep to your new regime. That is why most hypnosis programs recommend that you use the techniques taught for at least 21 days. This is also the case with the Law of Attraction where you need to work on your intention by spending some time each day to focus on your desires until it is permanently entrenched in your subconscious.
You can do this by creating vision boards, posters of the things you desire and place it somewhere prominent so that whenever you see it (whether you actually notice it is another matter), your subconscious mind will be reinforced with your manifestation desires. All this will help you attract what you want in your life because your powerful subconscious has already accepted what you want as real and works to make it a reality.y
Hence we should learn more on how the subconscious mind works so that you can learn how to make it work for you rather than against you. Your subconscious can become a powerful ally in using the Law of Attraction. Don’t let the dream snatchers steal your dreams away. Happy manifesting!
