Simple, sweet and effective, Moneta’s magical message is one of supporting manifestation through the creation of a talisman.
The idea of creating an object to be consecrated by the completion of a ritual comes to English from the French, in turn borrowed from the medieval Greeks, according to the Arcade Dictionary of Word Origins. The word is derived from a verb meaning to perform a ritual, or consecrate, in order to achieve an aim or result. The creation of a talisman has remained part of spiritual practices the world over for more than a thousand years. A talisman may have been used to attract wealth and prosperity, protect persons or things held dear, and to discourage negative influences. Essentially, these crafty items work the same way today.
First, choose a small container for the talisman, perhaps a green velvet bag or piece of jewelry designed to hold items placed inside. Next, add three items associated with money magic. Best choices may include lodestone, or magnetite, to draw money to you; honeysuckle, for the sweetness it can bring to your life; and chamomile, to heal your relationship with money. Additionally, one can also choose her own charms or symbols, based on the associations most appropriate for the outcomes, aims, or results desired. For example, a silver coin or cowrie shell (an early form of money) could invite monetary increases. Likewise, a cup of chamomile or mint tea as one works could increase the sensory impression of prosperity or personal luxury. Mint, of course, is sacred to Moneta, in whose temple on Capitoline Hill in Rome the empire’s coinage was minted. The plentiful, refreshing herb, therefore, is associated with the divine flow of money.
If creating a talisman doesn’t hold timeless appeal, consider substituting a necklace or ring which symbolizes the wish, and complete the next and final step only. Anytime an individual wishes to connect with her intention, grow the talisman’s positive power, or remember her priorities, she has only to touch the piece to check in with the higher self. Confidence and intuition do the rest.
Finally, to charge the talisman, write a couplet (rhyming two line poem) or quatrain (rhyming four line poem) expressing one’s heart’s desire. Holding the talisman in both hands to focus attention, ask Spirit to bless the heart-centered purpose for which the token was created. Repeat the rhyme three times, and close with a request for highest and best outcomes.
Wear or carry the talisman, and touch it frequently to re-activate intention and take action on the desire. The combination of unwavering focus and decisive action results in quick manifestation.
